Summary:PURPOSE:To conduct the specific correction of a sensor in a short time by receiving an external signal from a characteristic inspection device for selecting one of both a first mode and a second mode in the sensor having the first mode for outputting a torque signal and the second mode for correcting the detecting characteristics of the first mode. CONSTITUTION:A torque sensor 1 can be changed over alternatively into a first mode for measurement and a second mode for correcting detecting characteristics. A torque signal corresponding to the dimensions of torque applied to a shaft on the basis of the output signal of a detecting coil is transmitted over a characteristic inspection device 2 through a torque signal line 3 in a measuring mode. At least one correction in zero-point correction and sensibility correction, the correction of zero-point fluctuation with a temperature change and the correction of sensibility fluctuation with the temperature change is performed through an analog system in a correction mode. The torque sensor 1 obtains an external signal for selecting one of both modes by the device 2 through a data input-output line 4.
