Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the welding method of the steel structure capable of improving efficiency of welding word and improving the welding quality at the same time and the welding equipment of the steel structure which is simple and inexpensive for its execution. CONSTITUTION:Induction heating coils 9 and a welding nozzle 2a are provided, the interval between separated two steels 5A and 5B is covered by strap plates 6 from both sides to assemble a vertical welded joint part 3, the induction heating coils 9 are inserted and arranged into a pillarlike hollow part 4 of the welded joint part 3 from above, at least welding starting ends S of respective pillarlike hollow part insides 51 of the steels 5A and 5B are preheated by induction heating by the induction heating coils 9 and then, the induction heating coils 9 are pulled out. Welding is then performed following preheating by the welding nozzle 2a.
