Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a hollow fiber membrane module capable of separating an org. solvent such as acetone or acetic acid and excellent in solvent resistance by polymerizing cycloolefin to fix the end parts of the boundle body of hollow fiber membranes. CONSTITUTION:Cycloolefin is polymerized to fix the end parts of the bundled body of hollow fiber membranes. For example, hollow fiber membranes are bundled and the opening parts thereof are hermetically sealed with an adhesive and the hollow fiber bundle is received in a module case. After both ends of the module case are temporarily sealed using a plastic container, the interior of the module case is replaced with inert gas such as argon. Next, a mixture of cycloolefin and a catalyst (e.g; RuCl3) is injected in the module case by a centrifugal method and cured to fix the end parts of the hollow fiber bundle. Finally, the leading ends of the fixed parts are cut to open the hollow fiber membranes. As a result, a hollow fiber membrane module capable of separating an org. solvent such as acetone or acetic acid and excellent in solvent resistance can be obtained.
