Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive color image display device having high horizontal resolution. CONSTITUTION:Respective chrominance signals are stored in respective video signal storing devices 7 to 9 so as to be mutually shifted one by one by 1/3 of the period of storing frequency and read out one by one by 1/3 of the reading period. Respective read chrominance signals are sent to a signal switching device 5 and also synthesized by an adder 12. Only a high frequency component is extracted from the synthesized signal through an HPF 13. The device 5 successively selects and reads out video signals corresponding to respective color filters and respective read signals are synthesized with an output signal of the HPF 13 by an adder 14. A coloring device 2 is arranged across from the display surface 1a of a CRT 1 and rotationally driven. Respective color filters in the device 1 are successively conformed with the display surface 1a correspondingly to output signals of the adder 14 to obtain color images.
