Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a freezer in which its operating characteristic is not deteriorated and door-opening of the freezer is facilitated while a reduction in thermal insulating performance of a main body is restricted. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a door 6 constructed in a main body comprised of a thermal insulating box and for closing an opening of a refrigerator 3 in such a way as its opening can be opened or closed. A flexible gasket 7 closely contacted with a peripheral part of the opening is fixed to an inner surface of the door 6. A communicating part 24 for communicating the refrigerator 3 with an outside part of the refrigerator is formed in the main body. There is provided an opening or closing member 38 for opening or closing the communication part 24. An abutting part 46 abutted against the opening or closing member 38 is formed at the door 6. The opening or closing member 38 always closes the communication part 24 and at the same time in the case that the door 6 approaches the main body due to shrinkage of the gasket 7, it is pressed by the abutting part 46 and the communication part 24 is released.
