Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a wide band wavelength variable optical parametric oscillator in high efficiency yet narrow spectrum width capable of oscillating in near and intermediate infrared regions. CONSTITUTION:A wavelength variable laser oscillating in the wavelength within the range of 0.5 to 0.95mum is used as an exciting beam source 2 as well as KTP crystal as a nonlinear optical element 3. Thus, the high quality coherent beams in wide band wavelength of 1.0 to 3.1mum and narrow spectrum width can be emitted in high efficiency and stability neither angular nor temperature tuning of the nonlinear optical element 3 itself simply by fluctuating the wavelength of the exciting beams source 2.
