Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate work of high accuracy and ensure lubricating performance sufficiently, in a valve operating device for switching a plurality of cams selectively according to operating condition of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A valve operating device is provided with a lost motion spring 25 for pushing an auxiliary rocker arm 2 to a high speed cam 22, prop 31 for transferring energizing force thereof to the auxiliary rocker arm 2, a plunger 33 for moving the prop 31 along a non engaging position linked to a main rocker arm 1 and an engaging position linked to the main rocker arm 1, and the like. A recessed shaped oil bath 13 is formed on the top surface of the main rocker arm 1, and the auxiliary rocker arm 2 is arranged on the oil bath 13, and also a lost motion spring 25 is arranged on the bottom part of the oil bath 13. Furthermore, a delivery pipe 15 is provided in the oil bath 13 so as to supply lubricating oil.
