Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the burden of an operator and to shorten operation time by easily operating the system without requiring any skilled technique in the case of verifying an erroneously read character or a reject character. CONSTITUTION:This OCR verify system is provided with a character reading means 14 for reading the characters of paper as image data, recognizing means 15 or recognizing these read image data and converting them to code data and an OCR device equipped with a communication means 17 for transmitting these image data and code data, mutual input device 3 equipped with a display means 36 for displaying both of data of this OCR device 1, input means 33 for confirming the erroneously read character or reject character from both of data describing corrected characters with an exclusive pen and inputting corrected image data and recognizing means 35 for converting these corrected image data to the code data, and system controller 2 for transmitting the corrected image data and code data provided at this device 2.
