Summary:PURPOSE:To produce a composite resin structure excellent in formation and exhibiting a high strength in a high yield by using a fiber/resin component dispersion prepared from an inorganic fiber and a specified phenolic resin according to a specified method. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic fiber (e.g. glass fiber) is initially dispersed in a water containing a polyethylene oxide-based dispersant at a neutral pH and a polyacrylamide-based dispersant is subsequently added thereto to disperse it more uniformly. Further, a powdery thermosetting phenolic resin having 0.1 to 150mum average particle diameter is added and uniformly dispersed in the dispersion system at an arbitrary stage, e.g. before dispersing the inorganic fiber or after adding the polyethylene oxide-based dispersant. The resultant dispersion containing the inorganic fiber and the phenolic resin is then allowed to stand for a prescribed time so as to coagulate the phenolic resin by an effect of the polyethylene oxide-based dispersant. The fiber/resin component dispersion is subsequently poured into a perforated substrate and the solvent component is removed, thus producing the objective structure.
