Summary:PURPOSE:To secure such an enclosed lead storage battery that is compact in size, thin type, and lighter in weight, by shallowing the depth of one side plate housing chamber to the utmost, while situating a void part of a plate collector to an inner bottom, and installing at least one reinforced projection being higher then plate height, then joining each interval between inner bottoms of the plate housing chamber together with each other. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode grid and a positive electrode terminal are housing in a positive electrode housing chamber, while both projections 4 and 5 are soildly molded in a part to be situated in a void part of a grid. And, Height of at least one piece of these projections 4 and 5 is made higher than plate thickness. Therefore, when an active material is charged to the grid, at least one piece of these projections 4 and 5 is being exposed, the upper plane projection is of height almost similar to the plate thickness. A positive electrode active material is charged into a positive electrode chamber and a negative electrode active material into a negative electrode chamber, respectively, and both these chambers are superposed on each other via a separator and joined together by means of ultrasonic deposition. At this time, an acicular projection pierces through the separator, reaching the upper plane projection, and at this part, projections themselves are joined together with each other. With this constitution, a very thin, flat enclosed lead storage battery is securable.
