Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain easily and quickly the feature amount of vector conversion by using transmission and stop feature amount memories and a transmission/stop arithmetic means. CONSTITUTION:Both a transmission feature amount memory 13 and a stop feature amount memory 14 receive addressing through horizontal and vertical transmission conversion tables 4 and 5 and horizontal and vertical stop conversion tables 41 and 51 respectively. The contents Bo and Co of both memories 13 and 14 are read out by R/W control signals applied via the tables 4 and 41. A transmission/stop arithmetic circuit 15 calculates values Bi and Ci from values Bo and Co as well as the output B2 given from a 2-dimensional local memory (not shown here). Then the values Bi and Ci are written on both memories 13 and 14 through a transmission memory write buffer 84 and a stop memory write buffer 94 respectively. That is, both memories 13 and 14 replaces the feature amount of vector conversion through transmission arithmetic in two write and read steps after the R/W signals are applied.
