Summary:PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device of which the speed of an intermediate transfer is fast, and which can prevent the slippage of colors in multi-color printing, and can reduce the waste part of a transfer ribbon by performing the transfers of four colors with a time difference for the period of time for a intermediate transfer medium to pass between the thermal heads. CONSTITUTION:When receiving a signal transmitted by a cyan transfer ribbon feeding signal transmitting means 171, a cyan transfer ribbon feeding roll 41 and cyan transfer ribbon take-up roll 51 are driven, and a cyan transfer ribbon 61 is fed. Synchronizing with this motion, a thermal head for cyan 31 is pressed to an intermediate transfer drum 21 through the cyan transfer ribbon 61 and an intermediate transfer medium 20. The thermal head for cyan 31, when receiving a signal transmitted by a color signal transmitting means for cyan 11, makes a sublimate dye of cyan on the cyan transfer ribbon 61 sublimate-transfer to the intermediate transfer medium 20.
