Summary: | PURPOSE:To specify a material capable of withstanding long-term service by regulating the porosity and insulation resistance of the insulating member of a molten salt electroplating apparatus to a specified value or below and a specified value or above, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Ceramic and glass as inorg. materials and polyether ketone resin, polyphenylene sulfide resin, etc., as org. materials can be continuously used up to about 250 deg.C. A member of such an insulating material having <=0.1% porosity and Si1MOMEGA insulation resistance is used. The porosity is measured by an apparent porosity test stipulated by JIS C2141. When plating experiments at 50A/dm current density for 5 hr/day are carried out for 30 days in a molten salt electroplating apparatus using the insulating material, the insulating material undergoes no change and satisfactory results are obtd. |
