Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a position detector which make a position instructing device cordless and can be constituted of only inexpensive parts. CONSTITUTION:To a resonance circuit 18 for supplying an alternating current signal to a loop coil 19 provided in the vicinity of a sensing part 1, generate an electric wave, thereby constituting a position instructing device, an electromagnetic energy is stored. By the electric wave transmitted from the resonance circuit 18, the induced voltage generated at respective conductors (1-1) to (1-8) of the sensing part 1 is successively fetched through a multiplexer 2, and by the detecting signal for synchronizing with the AC signal, the synchronism is detected. Then, by integrating it, detecting the polarity change and counting the time difference between the selective timing of the specified conductor of the sensing part 1 and the detection timing of the polarity change, the position of the resonance circuit 18 is found.
