PURPOSE:To provide the crosshair cursor generating device with good operability used for a CAD system or the like. CONSTITUTION:The crosshair cursor generating device is provided with an xy counter 2 counting display coordinates, a start position register 3 storing the start coordinates of a display window, a window width register 4 storing the width data in x and y directions of the window, an xy register 5 storing the display coordinates of the crosshair cursor, a comparison circuit comparing each output of the register and the output of the xy counter 2, and a crosshair cursor generation part 14 generating the crosshair cursor receiving the output of these comparison circuits. A coordinate calculation circuit 20 automatically calculating the two crosshair cursor display coordinate points on the window boundary, calculating the value of the tilted register to the two points, and calculating the coordinates of the tilted crosshair cursor is provided between the xy register 5 and the comparison circuit. When the values of x and y coordinates are coincident, the crosshair cursor is generated.
