Summary:PURPOSE:To store fault information in a non-volatile storage device without using a magnetic disk device requiring complicated control when any serious fault going to system down is generated at an information processing system. CONSTITUTION:This method is composed of a non-volatile storage device 8, a serious fault informing mechanism 3 to execute a processing after the serious fault is generated, fault information registering mechanism 5 to register the information of the serious fault disabling automatic restoration and non-volatile storage device control mechanism 6 to store designated information and to write the information in the non-volatile storage device 8. Thus maintainability is improved by facilitating fault inspection/restoration according to the recorded information after the serious fault is generated.
