Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the texturing method for a magnetic disk substrate made of titanium which is adequate in the number of grooves and can effectively prevent the generation of burrs. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic disk substrate made of the titanium is subjected to texturing by using a polishing tape stuck with abrasive grains while a polishing liquid is supplied. The pressure to press the above-mentioned tape to the substrate is regulated to 0.3 to 1.5kgf/cm at this time and the flow rate of the above-mentioned polishing liquid is regulated to 0.5 to 1.5 (1/min).
