Summary:PURPOSE:To shorten access time by preparing many files in an address close to a volume label, and to efficiently utilize a magnetic file by doubling the file closest to the volume label. CONSTITUTION:The number of track of the magnetic disk being 2n+1 (cylinder #0-#2n), the volume label 1 is arranged in the cylinder #n that is located in the center of the effective radius. In the file 2 arranged outside the volume label 1, data are recorded in the descending order or addresses in the direction from an inner cylinder to the outer circumference, and in the file 3 arranged inside the volume label 1, the data are recorded in the ascending order of the addresses in the direction from an outer cylinder to the center.
