Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for oral administration free from side effect such as ulceration, effective in reducing the size of drug and useful as an analgesic antipyretic agent, by compounding ibuprofen with a specific amount of magnesium stearate. CONSTITUTION:Ibuprofen [2-(4-isobutyl)propionic acid] is compounded with 5-100wt%, preferably 10-50wt% magnesium stearate. The composition is formed in the form of e.g. tablet, pill, granule, fine granule, powder, troche, capsule, etc. The magnesium stearate may be an officinal compound (a mixture of magnesium stearate and magnesium palminate containing 3.9-1.5wt% magnesium in dry basis).
