Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent deflection of an arc of a DC arc furnace. CONSTITUTION:A power supply terminal 11 for connecting a conductor 12 to a current collecting plate 3 of a bottom electrode 5 of a DC arc furnace 1, is deviated in a direction opposite to a direction for guiding the conductor 12 from a center line 6 of the furnace 1, mounted on the plate 3 so that a large current of a direction opposite to a direction for guiding the conductor 12 to the plate 3, flows to cancel a magnetic field of the conductor 12 by a magnetic field generated by the current, thereby preventing the deflection of an arc 14.
