Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain good C/N which is suitable for high-density recording and is good particularly when a magnetic head of a 'SENDUST(R)' or amorphous system, etc., having a small gap length and large saturation magnetization of the magnetic recording medium having a nonmagnetic base and a ferromagnetic metallic thin film provided on this nonmagnetic base. CONSTITUTION:A fine network structure consisting of many microunit structures is provided on the ferromagnetic metallic thin film and the area of the respective unit structures of this fine network structure is specified to >=40nm and <200nm .
