CONSTITUTION:As to a rotary mirror 1, the shape of a mirror surface is formed so that a perpendicular(normal) N set up on a reflection surface exists on a plane including the rotary shaft(center line) A of the mirror 1 and its inclination alphato the rotary shaft A is changed in proportion to an angle theta from a reference position in the circumferential direction of the mirror 1. When a luminous flux is made incident on a point 0 on the mirror 1 from one direction and the mirror 1 is rotated in one direction, the direction of the reflected light is changed in accordance with the rotational angle of the mirror 1, and rapidly returned to an original direction after rotating once. Since the scanning is executed by the rotation of the mirror 1 in one direction, high speed scanning is executed.
