Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a light emitting element having a high luminance and a long life, and emitting pure blue light by successively laminating a positive electrode, a hole injecting layer consisting of a specified polysilane, a light emitting layer consisting of a specified benzoxazole compound, and a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:On a transparent glass base, a positive electrode consisting of a transparent conductive film such as ITO is laminated, and a polysilane represented by the formula I is laminated thereon by spin coating to form a hole injecting layer. A benzoxazole compound represented by the formula II is laminated thereon by vacuum evaporation to form a light emitting layer. Further, a negative electrode consisting of a Mg.Ag thin film is formed thereon to form an organic electroluminescent element. In the formulae I, II, R1-R12, which may be the same or different, represent hydrogen atoms (excluding R1, R2), C1-C10 alkyl groups, C6-C10 aryl groups, or halogen atoms (excluding R1, R2, R11, R12), and n is an integer of 100-10000.
