Summary:PURPOSE:To simultaneously shorten the time until an image display is executed after the image display is instructed and the restricting time of a data bus. CONSTITUTION:When an image request is inputted to a terminal machine 50, a terminal machine image requesting command is issued to a host computer (processing 2). The host computer 10 issues an n-page portion image requesting command to an optical file (processing B). By receiving it, the optical file 30 side reads out the compressed image data of the data concerned by a page unit from an optical disk, executes an expansion processing, reduces it to an image conforming to the request of the terminal machine, and transfers it to the host computer (processings a to e). It is repeated (n) times. The host computer 10 stores the image data of an n-page portion in a data storage part (processing C), and also, transfers the image of the head page to the terminal machine 50 (processing D). The terminal machine executes its expansion processing and displays it on a CRT (processings 3, 4). In the case of looking at the image of the next page after displaying the head page, the image request is inputted and the image requesting command is issued to the host computer 10 (processing 5).
