Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound useful as an insecticide. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I [R is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, (substituted) benzyl or 2-chloropyridin-5ylmethyl] such as 1-(2- chloropyridin-5-ylmethyl)-2-nitroimino-3-(methyloxyiminomethyl)imidazo lidine. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting an oxime ether derivative of formula II with a compound of formula III. The compound of formula II is a new substance and is obtained by reacting a compound of formula IV (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl) with a compound of the formula N2N-O-R.
