PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the front surface of a form by storing format information such as the printing range, the character width and the character space, etc., of characters and calculating the number of the characters of a document from the format information corresponding to the necessity/unnecessity of interdiction processing to be guidance displayed. Then, since the number of the characters is calculated from the stored format information after the necessity/ unnecessity of the interdiction processing is selected, the allowable maximum number of the characters included in the printing range for the number of the characters for one row can include an interdiction range and the inputtable number of the characters per page can be increased.
