Summary:PURPOSE:To efficiently print a line reduced in the number of heating elements to be driven at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:Recording data for a facsimile device is stored in an RAM 11 and read from the RAM 11 on the basis of the demand from a conversion control circuit 13 by a DMA controller 12 to be sent to the conversion control circuit 13. The signal form of the recording data is subjected to serial/parallel conversion in the conversion control circuit 13. The number of black dots in recording data is divided in a data control circuit 14 so as to be always the max. number of printable dots. The part other than the divided effective data in the recording data is masked to be processed as blank data. This processing is performed by a mask control circuit 15, a black dot counter circuit 16 and a recording data counter circuit 17 and the processed recording data is sent to a thermal head 18 to be subjected to printing.
