Summary:PURPOSE:To attain nearly the same reflection intensity of light at a part with a formed transparent electrode pattern and a part without the pattern and to obtain excellent display quality with little difference in lightness by forming a transparent inorg. thin film pattern on the rear side of each substrate with the transparent electrode pattern on the front side so that the thin film pattern corresponds to the vacant region in the electrode pattern. CONSTITUTION:An oriented film 3 (13) and a transparent electrode pattern 4 (14) are formed on the front side of each of polymer film substrates 1, 11 and a transparent inorg. thin film pattern 7 (17) is formed on the rear side of the substrate 1 (11) so that the pattern 7 (17) corresponds to the vacant region in the electrode pattern 4 (14) in the form of the negative pattern of the pattern 4 (14). Since the interface between a polarizing plate 2 (12) and the thin film pattern 7 (17) and that between the pattern 7 (17) and the substrate 1 (11) reflect light even at the part without the electrode pattern 4 (14), the difference in lightness between the part with the formed electrode pattern 4 (14) and the part without the pattern 4 (14) can be reduced.
