PURPOSE:To provide the subject apparatus having a specific construction, effective in preventing the clogging of a liquid-supplying means and a collection means to suppress the fouling phenomenon and reaction inhibition phenomenon caused by impurities, etc., and enabling continuous production of cellooligosaccharide in high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:Cellulose is hydrolyzed with cellulase in a reaction tank 32 containing a storage means such as inner tank 12 made of a polyester filter cloth. Substances causing the clogging of a liquid-supplying means and/or a collection means (e.g. non-reacted cellulose filament) in a reaction liquid containing the produced cellooligosaccharide are stored in the inner tank 1 and a reaction liquid free from the clogging substance is supplied to a liquid- feeding pump 34 used as a liquid supplying means. The reaction liquid is transferred from the liquid-feeding pump 34 to a separator 13 to remove the by- products and/or impurities from the reaction liquid and passed through a membrane separator 33 used as a collection means to collect the permeated liquid containing cellooligosaccharide. The reaction liquid left after the collection of the permeated liquid is returned to the reaction tank 32.
