Summary:PURPOSE:To control an engine so properly at all times by detecting the largest one among the control signals commanding a working speed to a hydraulic actuator within the specified time, and regulating the driving speed of the engine for driving a hydraulic pump, according to this detected result. CONSTITUTION:Each operation of two hydraulic cylinders 1, 2 controlling a boom or the like of construction machinery is controlled by each of operators 6, 7 via two control valves 3 and 4. Hydraulic pressure is outputted from a pump 8 driven by an engine 9. In addition, the engine 9 is controlled by a controller 10 on the basis of each detection signal out of an accelerator dial 11 and an automatic engine control switch 12 or the like. In this case, the controller 10 measures any variation in the specified time of the control signal outputted by these operators 6, 7, and detects a control signal commanding a working speed of each hydraulic cylinder being the largest one within the specified time. Subsequently, according to the detected control signal, a driving speed of the engine 9 is regulated.
