Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of crosstalk by using an image fiber with thin diameter and high picture element by increasing the weight of a signal representing the long wavelength component of a luminance signal higher than that of a signal representing the short wavelength component. CONSTITUTION:An objective lens 37 image-forms the image of an object illuminated with the illumination optical system of an endoscope on the incidental end face of an image fiber bundle 38, and the image fiber bundle 38 transmits the image of the object to an emission end face. A projecting lens 29 image- forms the image of the object on the surface of a CCD 41. A color separation circuit 42 connected electrically to the CCD 41 which photoelectrically converts received light converts an electrical signal to R, G, and B signals, and a matrix circuit 43 further converts those primary color signals to a chrominance signal and the luminance signal. When the signals are synthesized, the coefficient of the R signal in a long wavelength area with high crosstalk is set at zero, and that share is distributed to the G signal and the B signal in a short wavelength area.
