Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the time from a point of time when a high speed zooming is finished till focusing is attained by minimizing generation of unsharp so as to attain high speed zooming. CONSTITUTION:The controller is provided with a zoom driver 110 driving a zoom lens 102 and a focus lens 105 at least at two speeds or over, a focus driver 112 and a control means controlling the zoom driver and the focus driver, tracing the focus lens with respect to the movement while keeping focusing according to a prescribed locus and controlling the focus lens to follow a locus different from the locus of the zoom lens when the zoom lens is driven at a high speed, and when the focus lens cannot trace the zoom lens even when the focus lens is driven at a highest speed, the focus lens is driven according to a short locus causing less unsharp provided separately from the locus.
