Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which comprises an epoxy resin, an alkenyl-substituted nadiimide and a specific curing catalyst, thus shows good compatibility and storage stability, and cures at low temperatures to give the products excellent in mechanical strength and heat resistance. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprises, as essential components, (A) an epoxy resin such as a bis-phenol type epoxy resin), (B) an alkenyl- substituted nadiimide such as N-methylallylbicylo[2,2,1]-hepto-5-ene-2,3- dicarboxyimide) and (C) a catalyst consisting of an onium salt, or a combination of an onium salt with a weak reducing agent or copper benzoate. The onium salt of component C is preferably iodonium compound such as diphenyliodonium chloride. The weak reducing agent is, e.g. ascorbic acid. The weight ratio of individual components is 100 pts.wt. of component A, 20 to 300 pts.wt. of component B and 0.2 to 5 pts.wt. of component C, which is based on total 100 pts.wt. of components A and B. |
