Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance the strength of the boss portion of the impeller of a fan driven by an outer rotor type motor and cool the motor. CONSTITUTION:A fan comprising a motor main body 1 having a stator 4 located outside a rotary shaft 2 and a rotor 5 located outside the stator 4; and an impeller 6 covering one side portion of the motor main body 1 and the outer peripheral portion of the rotor 5 and attached to the rotary shaft 2 and the rotor 5 so that it rotates in conjunction with the shaft 2 and the rotor 5. A rotor yoke 7 constituting the outer peripheral portion of the rotor 5 is cylindrical and is held with a predetermined space to and inside the impeller boss 9 of the impeller 6 which covers the outer periphery of the rotor 5, and a plurality of ribs 14 are radially integrally formed on the outer periphery of the motor main body 1 side portion of a shaft-insertion boss 11 into which the rotary shaft 2 of the impeller 6 is fitted.
