The magnetic permeability sensor 11 is fixed at a certain distance from the outer periphery of the toner housing device 2, and the impact to the magnetic permeability sensor 11 is prevented. when the toner housing device 2 is attached/detached, to prevent the damage of the magnetic permeability sensor and fluctuations in detecting accuracy, and simultaneously, to detect the presence of the toner with stable accuracy.
