PURPOSE:To eliminate a differential pressure between high-pressure water chambers on the inner sleeve and one lid sides by communicating both the water chambers at one end in a container. CONSTITUTION:The objective apparatus for treating a high-pressure liquid is constructed of a cylindrical container 1, an inner sleeve 2 assembled in the interior of the container, a pair of lids 3 and 4 fitted to both ends of the container and a free piston 7 freely movable under liquid tight conditions in the inner sleeve. A pressurizing water chamber 29 is communicated with a pressurizing water chamber 30 at one end of the inner sleeve and a pressurizing treatment chamber 11 is isolated from the pressurizing water chamber 30 under liquid tight conditions on the side of the container lid 3. This apparatus is further equipped with a feed pipe 17 for a liquid to be subjected to pressurizing treatment, passing through the other lid 4 forming the pressurizing treatment chamber and communicating with the pressurizing treatment chamber, a high-pressure water feed pipe 32, passing through the lid 4 and communicating with a pressurizing water chamber 29 between the inner sleeve and the cylindrical container and a high-pressure water passage 33, passing through the lid 3 forming the pressurizing water chamber 30 on the side of the container lid 3 and communicating with the pressurizing water chamber 30.
