Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent generation of an incomplete communication and a rejection of information by communication a large quantity of continuous I/O channel data by using a connection oriented network. CONSTITUTION:Computer systems 3a-3d having plural I/O channel interfaces 6, 7 are connected mutually through an LAN 1 consisting of node devices 4a-4d connected like a ring by a transmission line, and converting circuits 5a-5d and a switching device 2. This switching device 2 is an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode), and a connection oriented network, and executes mutually a communication by using an identifier (call number) of the connection set in advance or in a call control means. In such a state, short data generated intermittently from a computer system is sent out to an FDDI(Fiber Distributed Data Interface) ring, and long data generated continuously is sent out to an ATM switching network.
