Summary: | PURPOSE:To embody an excellent high-pass characteristic, an excellent overwrite characteristic and good weather resistance by allowing the upper most layer of a specific thickness to contain hexagonal system plate-shaped powder and its adjacent layers to contain a high magnetic permeability material. CONSTITUTION:Hexagonal system ferrite having an easy axis of magnetization in the vertical direction is provided on the uppermost layer while the thickness of the layer is specified to be 0.5mum and below. The lower layer is arranged to contain a high magnetic permeability material, thereby producing magnetic pass between inverse magnetization which magnetic flux adjoins and forming a horseshoe-shaped loop. As described above, each magnetization exists in a stabilized manner, which makes it possible to enhance the output. Even when a signal is overwritten, the lower layer, which contains the high magnetic permeability material does not affect this recording medium adversely. What is more, the hexagonal system ferrite powder is excellent in terms of weather resistance, which enhances the reliability. |
