Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a gaseous hydrogen producing device capable of effectively utilizing raw material resources by effectively supplying a heat source without using any fossil fuel. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a line 1 for supplying a high- pressure carbonaceous material such as LNG, a steam reformer 3 for catalytically generating a water gas from a mixture of the carbonaceous material and steam, a heating medium feed line 16 for feeding high-temp. secondary gaseous helium generated from a high-temp. gas furnace 5 to the reformer 3 to heat the gaseous mixture, a gaseous hydrogen purifier 9 for refining the water gas generated in the reformer 3 and separating the water gas into gaseous hydrogen and an off gas contg. impurities and a line 21 for recycling the off gas separated by the purifier 9 and compressed by a compressor 22 to the line 1. Consequently, the high-temp. secondary gaseous helium as a rich heat source is utilized, and the unreacted component in the off gas is reutilized as the material resources.
