Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized rotary electric machine having a totally enclosed frame structure by using heat pipes for cooling a stator so as to make any cooling fan and ventilating duct unnecessary. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of heat pipes 14 in which a coolant is enclosed for absorbing the heat generated by a stator iron core 2 are buried in a plurality of outer peripheral grooves formed on the surface of the core 2 and connected to a condenser 16 for cooling the coolant through two short-circuit ring pipes 15 and communicating pipes 17 so that the coolant can be circulated due to the expansion of the heated coolant in the pipes 14 and condensation of the cooled coolant in the condenser 16. |
