Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the size and cost and improve the mass-productivity by minimizing the distance of the optical axis. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 1 and a photodiode 13 are mounted on the same base 14. A transmission type hologram diffraction grating spectrally diffuses incident light into transmitted light and refracted light. In a figure, 15 is a lens and a 16 is an optical fiber terminal which projects light on a transmission light and receives light from the transmission light. The transmission type hologram diffraction grating 11 and lens 15 are arranged between the optical fiber terminal 16 and base 14. The transmitted light which is projected by the semiconductor laser 12 and transmitted through the transmission type hologram diffraction grating 11 is optically coupled with the optical fiber terminal 16 through the lens 15. Further, the diffracted light which is projected by the fiber terminal 16, passed through the lens 15, and diffracted by the transmission type hologram diffraction grating 11 is optically coupled with the photodiode 13.
