CONSTITUTION:The optical pickup is provided with a beam diffusing lens 10 which diffuses an incident beam 2 and refractive index distributing area part 11 which corrects an emissive beam 5 to an objective lens 4 provided on a beam splitter 3 to be a parallel beam in parallel with an optical axis A. The height of the optical pickup is shortened by obtaining the emissive beam having a large diameter without enlarging the size of the beam splitter 3.
