Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a hot water extract liquid of fruiting bodies of Hericium erinaceus Pers and cultured mycelia thereof as active ingredients. CONSTITUTION:0.5-5 pts.wt. alcohol is added to 1 pts.wt. hot water extract or the condensate of fruiting bodies or mycelia of Hericium erinaceus Pers being an edible mushroom and belonging to Hydnaceae of soft Basidiomycetes and a high polymer precipitate fraction is dried. The dried ingredient is added as an active ingredient to prepare an antiulcer agent. As the liquid culture medium, yeast extract, glucose, etc., is used. The agent has antiulcer activity stronger than that of lentinan or Krestin which is a commercially available mushroom anticancer agent.
