Summary:PURPOSE:To automatically steer a traveling vehicle 1 while evading obstacles without changing an installed guide cable even when a new obstacle is provided on the guide path where the guide cable is already installed. CONSTITUTION:The automatic steering guidance device which automatically steers the traveling vehicle according to the output values from a couple of left and right magnetic sensors 45a and 45b is provided with plural obstacle sensors 47a, 47b, and 47c which detect obstacles in the body width direction of the traveling vehicle. Further, this device is provided with a target value changing means 48 which regards an area wherein the output values of the obstacle sensors 47a, 47b, and 47c exceed a specific value as a dangerous area and an area extending to the dangerous area as a warning area, and offsets the target value of the guide cable to the vehicle body width directional side on the opposite from one obstacle sensor which detects the obstacle when the output value of the obstacle sensor indicates the warning area.
