Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent shading from being generated by making a reflected surface larger in width at its peripheral part than at the center part. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting member Mg of the optical deflection device has the reflecting surface larger in width at the peripheral part than at the center part in a direction crossing the array direction of linear arrayed light information at right angles. Consequently, shading generated an image forming lens L according to a cosine 4th power raising rule, a decrease in the image plane illuminance of the peripheral part due to the presence of the vignetting of the image forming lens L and the vignetting of a lens barrel, a decrease in the image plane illuminance of the peripheral part due to other causes, etc., can easily be corrected.
