Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a pressure adjusting device which can stop the motion of a detection means temporarily and release the position control motion freely. CONSTITUTION:When evacuation mode is set simultaneously with the release of height control mode, compressed air in a pipe line 8 is discharged in the direction reverse to the direction of air supply (direction of dotted line) via a pipe line 10. Then, a pilot valve 6 is closed because pilot pressure in the pipe line 8 disappears. At this time, remaining pressure in a cylinder 51 is discharged from a discharge port 7C of the pilot valve 6 due to the remaining pressure discharge function provided in the pilot valve 6, and a piston 52 descends. Consequently, a valve shaft 9 retracts from the scope of allowed small variation of an upper frame 3 in the height control mode, and operation as a detection means 4 is stopped temporarily.
