PURPOSE:To enable the execution of reproduction at the same beam intensity of reproducing light by using a CAV system, to eliminate the need for changing the beam intensity of the reproducing light according to the position in the radial direction of the disk and to enable the decrease of the burden of a magneto-optical recording and reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:This magneto-optical disk has a recording layer 4 for magneto- optical recording of information. A readingout layer which exhibits intra-surface magnetization at a room temp. and shifts from the intra-surface magnetization to perpendicular magnetization when the temp. rises by a prescribed temp. or above by irradiation with a light beam 7 is provided on the recording layer 4. The compsn. of this reading-out layer 3 is so set that the magnetical compensation temp. is higher, the nearer the inner peripheral part than the outer peripheral part of the disk.
