Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate any control dragging as well as to improve the extent of acceleratability by installing a control ending means, ending the engine power control at a time when car acceleration has exceeded the specified upper limit acceleration, in a device which controls the engine power at a slip occurring. CONSTITUTION:A slip controlling means 70 controls the output of an engine so as to make a slip value turn to a desired slip value corresponding to the friction factor of a road surface at a time when each slip value of driving wheels against the road surface has exceeded the specified threshold value, and this output control takes place by controlling the opening of a sub throttle valve 45 at the upstream side of a main throttle valve 43 with an actuator, by way of example. In this case, there is provided a wheel speed sensor 66 for detecting each wheel speed of driven wheels, and car acceleration is detected from a variation in driven wheel speeds by an acceleration detecting means 77. When the car acceleration has exceeded the specified upper limit acceleration, the above output control is made so as to be ended by a control start-end means 80, and the upper limit acceleration is set so as to be the lower, the higher in car speed.
