PURPOSE:To improve dumping and to improve rising characteristic of the output by providing a flexible printed circuit board between a magnetic head composing body and a pivot. CONSTITUTION:The subject supporting mechanism for magnetic head is constituted in such a manner that the magnetic head composing body having a flexible gimbal 3 provided with the flexible printed circuit board 11 on one side and a main body 1 of magnetic head on another side, is pressurized through the pivot 5 of a holding arm 6 in the state opposed to the face of printed circuit board 11. The printed circuit board 11 is provided between the magnetic head composing body 1 and the pivot 5, and by coating the flexible printed circuit board 11 provided on one side of the gimbal 3 at the contact part of the gimbal 3 and pivot 5, the magnetic head is elastically supported by the printed circuit board 11 and also a resonance between 1st, 2nd main bodies 1, 2 and the gimbals 3, 4 generated by a warp of medium 8 is absorbed with the printed circuit board 11, then the magnetic disk device having good dumping and good rise characteristic of the output is obtained.
