Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate generation of knocking in the intake/exhaust device for an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:One cylinder is provided with a pair of intake valves 5, 6, a pair of intake ports 10, 11 extending toward respective intake valves 5, 6, a pair of exhaust valves 7, 8, and a pair of exhaust ports 12, 13 extending toward respective exhaust valves 7, 8. A pair of intake valves 5, 6 and a pair of intake ports 10, 11 are arranged point-symmetrically with respect to a cylinder axial line substantially, and also a pair of exhaust valves 7, 8 and a pair of exhaust ports 12, 13 are arranged point-symmetrically with respect to the cylinder axial line. A pair of intake ports 10, 11 are communicated with each other through a communicating passage 14.
